Our Heritage
Pacific Art Press began when Al Leiter's dad took printing classes in high school; the handset type and the letterpress fascinated him. During the summers and after school he worked part time for Camphill Art Press on the East coast. After serving in the US Army he purchased a press, named his company Pacific Art Press to begin a paying hobby, printing dance programs for the fraternities and sororities at the University of Washington. He was very busy at Christmas time printing special imprints on cards for stores in downtown Seattle.
Big changes happened when Al and Margo took over the reins of Pacific Art Press and brought us to where we are today. We continue to print for some of the companies Allen Sr. procured when he first started his business. We are thankful for his reputation and strong foundation. Pacific Art Press continues with the same commitment to our customers.
